I've only read one Anthony Trollope, only it was long ago before I started keeping track of my reading and I don't recall the title. What is a good one to start with? I loved Father Elijah (have read it several times), Les Miserables (I remember crying at all the indignities Fantine suffered), The Scent of Water, Cranford (the movie version is fun too) and some of Marilynne Robinson's books. I have The Custom of the Country on my nightstand, so we'll see when I get to it. I'm reading Laurus now and it's quite intense... Your post reminds me maybe I'll do a half year of reading post because I tried doing a full year and felt I couldn't give some books justice and it was just too much for my poor brain!
Last year I wrote about on a full year of reading but like you said, it's a lot to remember - even though I make notes as I'm reading. When I was blogging regularly I used to write a more detailed review of a book but it took quite a bit of time.
I loved the Cranford movie & have watched it a few times - forgot that I hadn't read the book so I wanted to remedy that.
I started with The Warden which the first book in the Barsetshire series as it was one that was readily available at the time. It's a short book for Trollope - 234 pgs. Barchester Towers is next & if you read those two you'll meet many of the main characters & I don't think it matters too much which books you read after those except I'd read all the others before The Last Chronicle of Barset as it ties up all the loose ends.
As I mentioned above to Melisa, The Chronicles of Barsetshire, starting with The Warden would be a good place to begin with. I loved all of them in the series.
The Eustace Diamonds is a great read & also Can You Forgive Her? if you wanted some that can stand alone.
I'm pretty confident that you'd like Trollope since you enjoy Dickens so much. His subject matter is more 'domestic' & quite humorous at times & his characters are more nuanced. Any way, he's written so much that you shouldn't have any problem finding something you'd enjoy.

Librivox has a reader I liked (Nicholas Clifford) : https://librivox.org/doctor-thorne-by-anthony-trollope/ if you have trouble finding this book.
Thank you! I'll add The Warden and Barchester Towers to my list.
I still haven’t read any Anthony Trollope…any suggestions on what would be a great one to start with?
I love your lists; thank you for sharing them!
