I just read The Battle of the Villa Fiorita last month. I was drawn to it because I come from a family in which my parents divorced, and I heard the book dealt with that subject matter. I was 14 at the time of their divorce, and I can say it was hard on everyone, but especially my siblings and I. That was 38 years ago, and I believe the effects are still felt today. I want to write about it, but I don't want to throw my parents under a bus, as they say, though I want to be honest about how it affected my siblings and I.

I see you mention an Elizabeth Goudge book. She and Rumer Godden are 2 authors I really enjoy.

The Ruth Institute has covered the affect of divorce on children very well https://ruthinstitute.org/podcasts/audio-divorce-does-hurt-kids-the-research-doesnt-begin-to-tell-the-whole-story/
